This past weekend I was privileged to attended the 30th annual Live Oak Music Festival celebration – an epic event that takes place every Father’s Day weekend. Initial attendance projections were 3K-4K people, although I am not sure of the actual numbers, it was jam packed.
I would get up early each morning and wander around the makeshift camp village. I loved being immersed in the sea of tie-dye, vintage vehicles, tents, high tech laser light displays and people just enjoying low tech family fun.
In the evenings, after the main stage performances, open mics, talent shows, etc, we would wander various campsites where people were jamming and singing in small groups. As wanderers were welcomed into a number of campsites where we enjoyed face-to-face connections and camaraderie – very far from my typical day of virtual meetings or local networking events!
…today is Monday – back to reality
